Pop princess Britney Spears has been voted as the biggest star of the decade as per a new Internet poll.

Britney is upset over the new conservatorship ruling

Pop superstar Britney Spears is upset over the new conservatorship ruling which extends her father Jamie's power over her life.

A source said: "Britney is very upset about the conservatorship being extended. She feels very duped by the people around her."

The ruling didn't specify an end date for the conservatorship, though lawyers have said they expect Spears' father to be in charge for another six months to a year.

The next Spears family hearing is set for January 14.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick: Perfect Couple?

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick: JFK Couple

Making their way through the JKF Airport earlier today (December 19), Britney Spears and boyfriend Jason Trawick were spotted touching down in New York City.

The “3” singer looked cute in jeans, green boots and a bright white coat, while her beau looked nice, too, sporting jeans and a leather jacket while carrying some of Brit’s belongings.

Although the past couple of years have been a bit rough for Ms Spears, she seems to have her feet on the ground once again.

Among other successes, Britney recently showed off her hot body in a skimpy swimwear photo shoot for a Candie’s for Kohl’s ad campaign.

A Nerdy Britney Goes Shopping

Britney Spears seems to be rather fond of her over-sized glasses, and is wearing them at every opportunity.

She took to the stage wearing the metal frames in Australia and also has a pair of huge black glasses.

It does not seem to matter to the singer that they make her look like Brains from Thunderbirds.

The nerdy character, who is a scientific genius, wore large horn-rimmed blue glasses as he invented spaceships, robots and computer software.

Britney might not be up to such technical expertise right now. She is enjoying relaxation time after her Circus tour finished at the end of last month.

That might account for the trilby on her head and relaxed checked shirt she wore with skinny jeans as she visited a convenience store in Los Angeles.

The star has had an up and down week after Pink criticised her for miming during her tour.

Pink said that she would never attend a Britney show because she was brought up to appreciate live music.

'I'm not taking anything away from Britney because I really like her a lot, but I would never go to a show where the person was lip-synching,' she told Women's Health.

'When you grow up listening to Janis Joplin, you're not going to want to see somebody mime.

'I swear to God, I've stuck up for Britney since the beginning,' she added.

But Britney has also been nominated as a 'woman of the year' by MTV for her tour, slapping restraining orders on her former self-proclaimed manager, paparazzo ex-boyfriend and attorney, and making peace with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

She was also 'awarded' a gong by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton this week, for 'Most Improved' star.

Britney Spears celebrates birthday

Britney Spears celebrated her 28th birthday with a shopping spree in Los Angeles.

The pop princess made it her own prerogative to hit the shops in Hollywood with her agent Jason Trawick, who she is thought to be dating, before heading home to be with her sons, Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James, reports People.

An onlooker told the mag: "Britney looked so happy - she seemed very excited to spend her morning with Jason."

Did Trawick reject Britney's proposal?

Britney Spears, who is currently touring Australia, is happy and her agent-boyfriend Jason Trawick hasn't rejected her wedding proposal, clarifies a source close to the couple.

Reports that Trawick abruptly left the country after rejecting her wedding proposal are "absolutely false", says the source. "There was no proposal and they were never engaged," people.com quoted the source as saying.

The couple, who know each other for more than six months, had spent time together across Australia with Britney's sons - Preston and Jayden.

When Trawick headed back to Los Angeles instead of spending the holidays, it was simply a matter of logistics. "Jason spent more time in Australia than originally planned. They are very happy," said the source.

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick walking through the Botanical Gardens

Britney Spears and Jason Trawick walking through the Botanical Gardens in Sydney, Australia

Despite OK! magazine claiming the exact opposite, Britney Spears supposedly proposed to her boyfriend Jason Trawick, and was rejected. Cue meltdown number two in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . From Sydney's Daily Telegraph:\

The boyfriend of pop princess Britney Spears has knocked back a marriage proposal from the world-famous singer she made on her tour here.

Just as it worked its magic on megastars Elton John and Michael Jackson, Sydney apparently brought Spears to her knees on Friday when she is said to have proposed marriage to her manager-boyfriend of some three years, Jason Trawick.

Perhaps feeling emotionally open after a difficult Australian tour, the serial bride with two failed marriages at age 27 is said to have been devastated by the rejection.

The knockback may have caused ripples - on Friday night, for what is said to be the first time in the month-long tour, she gave an impromptu address to her audience, with one tour source saying she introduced a song on these lines: "Have you ever really loved somebody? Have you ever really been hurt by somebody?"

This guy Jason is an idiot. If he just said "yes," when he divorced Britney, he would have been set for life -- a life filled with strippers, gambling, and cheesecake (click here to read more about Kevin Federline). Sure, marrying a pop star just for her money can rob a man of all dignity, but who needs something as stupid as dignity when you can spend all day in your underwear ordering the help around. "Jeeves! Refill my sippy cup with liquor now or you're fired!"

Warm Welcome for Britney in Brisbane

Anna Caldwell

November 22, 2009 09:30pm

THEY all knew the miming would be shameless. But with a hefty roar of welcome from Brisbane fans tonight, the message from almost 10,000 fans to starlet Britney Spears was clear - they didn't mind.

If the "leave Britney alone'' and "save Britney" T-shirts were any indication, the Spears army was poised to defend their lip-synching heroine on the back of successive bad reviews.

Lip-synching aside (which was never a surprise), Spears doesn't move as well as she used to.

If you remember the blonde teen who busted moves in Hit Me Baby One More Time, you would have been sorely disappointed by the woman who strutted more than anything else and was carried (literally, at times) by her breath-taking back up cast.

But the fact is this - as far as comebacks go, the Spears Circus is spectacular.

Far from the images of the popstar-turned-trainwreck that have been beamed around the world in recent years, tonight Spears appeared on stage as a glowing teen idol.

Hoisted high above the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in the arm of an umbrella, she was the ringmaster - it was hard to believe this was the same woman who has been the protagonist of countless scandals, ranging from head shaving to carrying her baby unrestrained on her lap in the car.

Her sculpted body carries off the skimpy costumes she flaunts, and her wide smile and bright blonde hair scream glossy pop star perfection.

There is no denying she has a set list that's defined teen pop over the past decade.

Brisbane fans have waited a long while for this three-ringed circus - she doesn't sing and she doesn't move like the best of them, but as far as her glitter-clad army was concerned, Britney was back.

Lip syncing Spears' tour tickets on sale for 55 pence

The lip-syncing backlash against pop princess Britney Spears has caused the prices of her Australian tour tickets to plummet from a whopping 800 pounds to as little as 55 pence.

Hundreds of tickets for the 'Womanizer' hitmaker's Australian tour have gone up for sale on eBay
following complaints about her miming, reported Daily Mail online.

The American pop star has faced a backlash from Australian fans who had walked out of her two-hour 'Circus' shows and demanded their money back after discovering that she was miming the songs.

Dozens more tickets went on sale on Thursday after the pop princess failed to wow fans with her first Melbourne show on Wednesday evening. The starting price for some tickets has been as low as 55p.

Most fans are offering tickets in pairs or multiples, creating a buyers' market with tickets being sold well under their face value of 90 pounds.

The 27-year-old performer is reportedly hurt by the "cruel" critical reviews of her opening shows in Australia and issued a statement earlier in the week saying she was not performing for the critics but for her fans.

Reports suggested that some of the fans were so disappointed that were offering to give away premium tickets outside the show venue.

Britney Spears fans slam 'mime'

Britney Spears speaks on Australian Circus tour miming row
By Alyssa Braithwaite

BRITNEY Spears has hit back at critical media reports of her Circus tour, saying she came to Australia for her fans.

The pop star arrived in the country last week amid controversy over her lip-synching stage performance, and soon faced reports that disappointed fans walked out of her opening show in Perth.

Spears has been keeping a low profile since arriving in Melbourne earlier this week, but she responded to the criticism today.

"I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show," Spears said in a statement.

"Some reporters have said they love it and some don't. I came to Australia for my fans!"

Spears is due to play the first of three sold-out shows in Melbourne on Wednesday night, and has been indulging in some retail therapy.

"Went shopping on Collins Street yesterday and got a lot of my Christmas presents. Melbourne is beautiful. Can't wait to see more. -Britney," she wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

Aussie DJ Havana Brown, who is touring with Spears, said she is surprised by the savaging the pop princess has received here.

Brown said there was no negative reaction from fans and the media about lip-synching and lacklustre performances in Europe, where they toured before Australia.

"I think it's quite well known that she has lip-synched in the past. I don't think it's any surprise to anybody," Brown told AAP.

"There was nothing like that in Europe. I think everyone knew what they were in for, and I think everyone should know here as well.

"I'm not quite sure what the fuss is about."

Brown was personally chosen by Spears' father and manager to open the Circus tour in Europe and Australia.

The Melbourne native gets the crowds warmed up for Spears each night and then sits back to enjoy the spectacle.

She said there was an "incredible response" at the first two shows in Perth, and she hoped Aussie fans would make up their own minds about the concert.

"It's sad. I want people to be positive about her - she's doing so well, and she's looking so good, and the show is amazing," she said.

"I want everyone to make their own opinion, rather than be persuaded by what's been in the media."
